Inspire! Adult Learning Awards

About Building a Legacy

The Community Impact Initiative C.I.C. is absolutely thrilled and honoured to have won the Inspire! Adult Learning ‘Community Project’ Award for 2020!

The Cii was awarded with the ‘Community Project’ award at this year’s Inspire! Awards, a recognition of our success in supporting people to improve their employability skills and health and wellbeing.

Co-ordinated by Learning and Work Institute with support from the Welsh Government and the European Social Fund, the Inspire! Awards reward those who have demonstrated the power of learning, building confidence and developing vibrant and successful communities.

Minister for Housing and Local Government, Julie James, said: “Even without a ceremony it’s so important that we celebrate the Inspire! Awards winners whose determination has been extraordinary.

“The Community Impact Initiative is a great example of how lifelong learning can turn lives around, both professionally and personally. One of our ambitions as Government is to provide quality housing in areas where people aspire to live. This initiative not only fulfils this but benefits local communities by turning empty, run down properties into home and giving individuals new skills, which they can carry with them throughout their life.

“Gaining qualifications at any age will not only help us build a workforce with the right skills needed for the new normal, but also inspire people to keep learning to explore directions and keep their minds and bodies healthy too.”

Thank you to all of our project funders including The National Lottery Community Fund Wales, WCVA, CITB and all others for supporting our work and for supporting the local communities of Wales. Congratulations to all other nominees and category award winners for doing so much for learning and development this year!
